A very special invitation - 15th Anniversary of the church in Pamplona. When we received the first message we looked at each other, “Yes! Let’s plan on going!”
The time came for the journey – from the island of Mallorca to the mainland of Spain = walk to the bus stop from our apartment, bus to the airport, wait!!! for the 1 hour & 10 minute flight to Bilbao. The countryside looked so green as we were about to land! It was so good to be going back to Basqueland. After picking up our luggage we waited in a very long line to travel to the center of the city. There really wasn’t room for all the big suitcases but we managed to get to the back of the bus. Some kind young men gave us their seats! At the main bus station in Bilbao, another long line to buy tickets for the bus to Pamplona. Time for a café con leche and a sandwich before our comfortable two-hour trip. The pastor was waiting for us. We were made to feel right at home in their lovely apartment; then began the ‘catching up’ time – we see each other once a year!
The following morning hubby gave a teaching to the leaders of the Christian Center in Pamplona. Their theme for 2016 is "Vision and Mission!" What a group of inspiring young men and women!
2 Timothy 2:14, 15 NIV – “Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words: it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” was the passage read.
“There is a great lack of knowledge of God’s Word in our times, “continued hubby. “Reading and learning God’s Word affects the way we think! Use what you read in your conversations, in your emails and messages. But – ‘use well the Word of Truth’ – the Word of God!”
Hubby then gave 7 Principles, encouraging those present in the task of giving leadership.
- Keep the focus – distractions can come – good or bad
- Build for tomorrow – it’s not all about us.
- Trust in our faithful God – He never fails. Nothing is difficult for Him.
- Pray much – “without ceasing” You will see fruit.
- Work hard – it’s not for the lazy person.
- Acts Look to the divine source – James 1:5 – ask God – there are many voices.
- Be persistent = don’t give up! Galatians 6:9 – “Don’t grow weary in well-doing.”
